Cole should expect a fine from league
By Dan Graziano
The fight that broke out near the end of Sunday's Giants-Eagles game remains under review in the league office. A spokesman with the office told the Daily News that fines are expected to be assessed, but no suspensions are in the plans. That's good news for Eagles defensive end Trent Cole, who threw at least two punches during the scrum.
We'll probably find out the amount of the fine Wednesday or Thursday, but I'd expect it to be somewhere in the $7,500 range for Cole. It's not like he has the reputation of being a dirty player or anything. Asked about the fight, here's what coach Andy Reid said:
"You just have to be smart with it," Reid said. "You have to play within the rules and regulations. There’s a little bit of that that happens between our two teams here."
In other words, what did you guys expect?
