Eagles make a move at TE
By Dan Graziano
The Eagles have signed former Missouri tight end Martin Rucker off their practice squad and released running back P.J. Hill. I watched Rucker play quite a few games at Mizzou and he's a very athletic and can make some plays in the passing game. There's been a suggestion in the Philly media that this move was made out of concern for Brent Celek's sore back.
At least one reporter noted that Celek left the locker room Sunday night with something around his neck that may have indicated that he was experiencing pain in that area. It was actually a neck pillow that you can purchase at your local Brookstone store. The Eagles have been thin at tight end all season, so I don't think the move is directly related to Celek's back being injured. The Eagles knew about tightness in Celek's back hours before Sunday night's game and they gave him some pain medication that allowed him to go out and have another strong game.
We'll keep our eye on this situation for you this week, but I know Celek is intending to play against the 49ers on Sunday.
