Baltimore Sun columnist Mike Preston put together a contract proposal Tuesday in an effort to help the Ravens re-sign veteran linebacker Ray Lewis. In the end, the number will be significantly higher than the one Preston's recommending -- and he knows that.

Lewis sucked everyone in by talking about his desire to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Local columnist began lobbying Jerry Jones to sign Lewis in free agency. But Lewis was simply trying to create leverage. There's never been a doubt that he's staying in Baltimore. On Monday, the Ravens cleared up $8 million in salary cap space by cutting cornerback Chris McAlister.

There's no way the Ravens will let this man walk.
