NFC East: Matt Nagy

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- When backup quarterback Kevin Kolb went down with an MCL sprain in his left knee, the Eagles didn't have to look far to find a replacement. Matt Nagy, a 31-year-old former Arena Football League standout, had been serving as a coaching intern, which basically required him to fire passes to Brian Westbrook on the side.
Kolb's only expected to miss one preseason game, but there's a good chance that Nagy could see some action Thursday against the Patriots. According to Les Bowen of the Daily News, offensive tackle King Dunlap accidentally stepped on Kolb's foot during team drills, causing the injury.
Nagy has played for the Columbus Destroyers, Georgia Force, Carolina Cobras and New York Dragons. In case you missed it, the AFL is taking some down time right now. Nagy, who has twice played in the AFL's championship game, addressed the closure of the league in this podcast. Our friends at the Championship Subdivision News had this to say about Nagy's internship.
