NEW YORK -- Has to be Hakeem Nicks or Kenny Britt, right? You also have Rey Maualuga and James Laurinaitis sitting out there. And the Giants take Nicks!

The partisan Giants crowd loved the pick.

I think New York thought a lot of Kenny Britt because they saw him play a ton at Rutgers. Ultimately, though, Nicks had the most upside.

It's unfair to say that Nicks has to step in and replace Plaxico Burress immediately -- but he'll certainly have a chance to play a lot early in his career. I've heard at least three scouts say that Nicks reminds them of Michael Irvin coming out of Miami. And that's high praise. Nicks doesn't always get a lot of separation, but he can make plays on throws that are contested.

Is he immediately a No. 1? Probably not, but he could certainly end up there.
