There is interest in Kampman

We noted Thursday night that Green Bay defensive end/linebacker Aaron Kampman appeared on track to be a prominent target on the free-agent market, despite the ongoing status of his knee rehabilitation. On the first full day of free agency, Kampman is reportedly on the wish list of up to five teams.

Reports that Kampman planned to visit Philadelphia or Seattle appear to have been premature. To me, there is no reason to rush into a deal with a player five months removed from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. It's difficult to predict the speed with which Kampman will sign a new contract, but it's nice to see that the injury -- and his position change last season -- won't put too much of a damper on his chances to find a new home.
