Tuesday is the deadline for restricted free agents to sign their tenders or face a potential pay reduction imposed by the team. I'm expecting all of the NFC North's RFAs to sign by then, and Minnesota Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards has become the first domino to fall.
Edwards signed his tender Monday, according to the team's website, and will make $2.521 million this season. As ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli noted, the Vikings would have had the option to reduce that tender to 110 percent of Edwards' 2009 salary had he not signed by Tuesday.
The division's remaining three RFAs are all with Green Bay: Defensive end Johnny Jolly, safety Atari Bigby and cornerback Tramon Williams. We'll bring you news of their expected signings when it becomes available.
Note: The Vikings also announced they have signed linebacker Nate Triplett, the second of their two fifth-round picks in the 2010 draft. They have now signed two of their eight picks.
