Minnesota Vikings nose tackle Pat Williams can always be counted on to breathe life into the training camp doldrums, and it appears Williams produced one of his patented eruptions Saturday morning.

Based on this account from Tom Pelissero of ESPN1500.com, Williams decked running back Toby Gerhart at the end of a play. Williams offered no apologies for what seemed to be a pointed message at a rookie running back who reported to camp one day late while working out his contract language.
Williams:"I don't care who it is, man. This ain't college no more. They're grown [men] out there. Paying these college boys like they already played before, so, we just show 'em. This is a different breed out there. This is grown men. It ain't boys no more. But they pay 'em like they done played in the NFL now."

For the record, Gerhart's contract was reported to be worth $3.767 million over four years. Williams is in the final season of a deal that will pay him $22 million over three years.

One Vikings note:Receiver Percy Harvin was taken off the field on a cart, but WCCO sports anchor Mark Rosen reported that he saw Harvin "signing autographs and riding his bike after practice." *Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Harvin is "fine" and that his injury is not considered serious.
