While the rest of us are munching frozen dinners and bonbons, Chicago coach Lovie Smith and quarterback Jay Cutler are scheduled to attend a dinner party Thursday night for President Barack Obama at the Chicago-area home of presidential friend Penny Pritzker.
This will be the first time Smith has met Obama, a self-proclaimed Bears fan. But in a quote posted on the Bears' Web site, Smith said he hopes it won't be the last.
Smith: "I'm going to say that I hope we'll be visiting the White House as Super Bowl champs and I can give the president a Chicago Bears ball to toss around the South Lawn."
It'll be the end of a busy day for Smith, who gave current Miss America Katie Stam -- another Bears fan -- a tour of the team's practice facility.
