Jared Allen's appearance Monday morning on ESPN Radio's "The Herd" included this prediction: Minnesota officials won't let the Brett Favre saga extend beyond this week's reporting date for training camp.
Here's what Allen said about the possibility that Hewhoshallnotbenamed could seek a late arrival to camp: "I don't think the coaches or anybody will ever let it go past the beginning of training camp, whichever way it happens. Because they understand once training camp starts, the focus is winning a championship."
Allen also confirmed a report from ESPN's Ed Werder that he is one of the Vikings players who has encouraged Favre to sign with the team. Allen said he has sent one text message but said its existence was supposed to remain confidential.
