Three questions with Adrian Peterson
MANKATO, Minn. -- Checking in with Minnesota's Pro Bowl tailback:
What did you focus on during the offseason?
Adrian Peterson: It's really working on discipline, adding a couple of pounds and putting them in the right spot: My legs, arms and upper body a little bit. I was able to do a good job. I worked on some minor things I looked at from last season, things I can correct and improve on along with studying film.
What areas in particular?
AP: Going out and running better routes. Finding the right position.
Have you worked on protecting the ball? [Peterson fumbled nine times in 2008, losing four.]
AP: No, I really haven't. That's all mindset. Of course, running back drills, you do ball security work. But it's not something I think about. That really was my problem last year. I was thinking about it too much and I got caught up in it. So it's not something I'm really focusing on. I've been doing this since I was seven. I know how to hold on to the ball.
