Training camp is effectively ending Thursday for two more NFC North teams, leaving Detroit as the only team with plans to continue functioning in a true camp format.
Chicago broke camp after a light practice at Olivet Nazarene University, while Green Bay is holding its final two-a-day session at their on-site practice facility. (Minnesota broke camp Aug. 12 at Minnesota State University, Mankato.)
The Bears celebrated by exchanging jerseys for the final practice, a camp tradition. According to ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson, quarterback Jay Cutler (No. 6) and linebacker Brian Urlacher (No. 54) were two of the participants. Defensive lineman Israel Idonije, meanwhile, wore running back Garrett Wolfe's No. 25.
The Packers emerged from an intense, physical camp with some nagging injuries but few of them will cause anyone to miss an extended period of time. Coach Mike McCarthy told reporters in Green Bay that "the quality of work has been very good."
McCarthy: "The volume, I think I've hit the right number. That's something I think every coach goes through as far as getting the volume of work and the quality of work. The extra padded practices I think definitely helped us. ... The fatigue injuries are really about the same, but I think that shows you how hard they're working."
As for the Lions, the latest schedule I saw indicated they will have their final two-practice day Aug. 26.
