Is this the break we’ve been waiting for in Detroit’s quarterback competition?
According to a statement the Lions released Monday afternoon, Daunte Culpepper cut his toe while at home Saturday afternoon. The injury required eight stitches, making his availability uncertain for Thursday’s preseason finale at Buffalo. The statement described the injury as "minor."
To this point, neither Culpepper nor rookie Matthew Stafford has run away with the job. But Stafford could have an opportunity to win the job with a strong showing Thursday if Culpepper can’t play.
We’ll keep you updated.
