Here’s some eye-popping news on a quick turnaround here at the Cleveland airport: Chicago linebacker Brian Urlacher has been diagnosed with a dislocated right wrist and will have surgery Monday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

There is no timetable for Urlacher’s return, but similar procedures have required extensive recoveries. The play happened during the first quarter of Chicago’s 21-15 loss to Green Bay. Hunter Hillenmeyer replaced Urlacher during the game, but if Urlacher misses an extended period, I wonder if the Bears would move Lance Briggs to middle linebacker. But that could be difficult considering outside linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in the game and could be sidelined as well.
Either way, it is a big blow for a team that suffered a crushing defeat at Lambeau Field. I’ll have a full Black and Blue package, along with much more analysis, a bit later Monday.
