We're now two-thirds of the way through the NFL practice week, and nothing that has happened in Detroit suggests that anyone other than Matthew Stafford will start Sunday for the Lions against the Denver Broncos.
Stafford worked with the first team offense Thursday, according to local reports. There were no indications that his sprained right ankle was inhibiting him, and coach Jim Schwartz said: "He is improved today over yesterday and I think that he's on a pretty good track right now."
Of course, recovering from the ankle injury is only one of the challenges Stafford is facing this week. He'll also need to rebound from a mini-slump over the past two weeks, one that has seen him complete 52.4 percent of his passes and contributed to a pair of sub-20 point outings from the Lions' offense. For more on that topic, don't you dare miss my segment of this week's NFC 411 video below.
