The Green Bay Packers certainly are not the first team to make a disappointing and earlier-than-expected exit from the NFL playoffs. But given the circumstances of their season, Sunday's 37-20 loss to the New York Giants was unprecedented.

The Packers are the only 15-win team in NFL history to lose in the divisional round of the playoffs. As the chart shows, the other five teams at least advanced to their conference championship game.

On top of that, no defending Super Bowl champion has been bounced from the playoffs by a larger margin of defeat, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The Packers did receive a small silver lining from the NFL, however. Their coaching staff will direct the NFC squad in the Pro Bowl, to be played Jan. 29 in Honolulu.
