GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Greetings from our second stop on CampTour'12. Let's catch up on a few Sunday afternoon and evening newsbits in quick-hitting style.

Item: Detroit Lions receiver Ryan Broyles was added to the active roster, ending a brief stay on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Comment: Now that Broyles is fully recovered from the torn ACL that ended his college career, we'll start learning how the Lions plan to mix him into a rotation that also included Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson and Titus Young. Likely first stop: The slot. Broyles better buckle his chin strap, though. Literally. As Anwar S. Richardson of Mlive.com notes, Broyles drew the ire of coach Jim Schwartz for having this chin strap unbuckled Sunday at the line of scrimmage.

Item: Running back Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) and left tackle Jeff Backus (thumb) did not practice Sunday.
Comment:
Neither injury is expected to cause an extended absence. You would like to see Leshoure get consistent work this summer after he missed all of last season, but such is life.

Item: Chicago Bears receiver Devin Hester, who suffered an ankle injury Friday and did not practice Saturday, returned to the field Sunday.
Comment:
There was no reason to risk Hester in a full-pads workout Saturday this early in training camp.

Item: Rookie cornerback Casey Hayward is one of the early standouts of the Green Bay Packers' training camp. Here are stories from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Comment: Hayward was a second-round draft choice and the Packers have an opening for an outside cornerback, now that Charles Woodson is a safety in the base and a slot cornerback in nickel and dime. It would be tough to start a rookie cornerback in Week 1, but the Packers have made clear they'll stop at nothing to improve their pass defense in 2012.

Item: I passed by what was at least a 4-mile backup on I-43 South near Port Washington, Wis., on the drive up from Chicago.
Comment: There was some road construction near the area, but man. That was some kind of traffic jam for a pretty quiet area between Milwaukee and Green Bay.

Item: Scanning through the radio on the drive brought me brought me to an "Oldies" station that featured Chicago and the Eagles.
Comment: Either the station doesn't understand its mission, or I'm the one getting oldie. Yeesh.
