Wrapping up a Wednesday injury report truncated by a pair of bye weeks.
Chicago Bears: Linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa participated in a bye-week workout for the first time since injuring the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last month. Tinoisamoa revealed he completely tore the ligament, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago. It’s expected he will be ready to play when the Bears returned from their bye Oct. 17 at Atlanta. The same goes for receiver Devin Hester, who did not practice Wednesday but said he has a strained neck muscle.
Detroit Lions: Quarterback Matthew Stafford (knee) did not practice Wednesday, but the Lions offered no other details of his condition. Daunte Culpepper took all of the first team snaps, and Stafford would have to make an awfully speedy recovery in order to play Sunday against Pittsburgh. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen and others have reported Stafford dislocated his knee cap last Sunday at Chicago.
Green Bay Packers: They had meetings Wednesday but won’t practice as they enter their bye, according to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Minnesota Vikings: Guard Steve Hutchinson (back), Darius Reynaud (hamstring) and defensive end Ray Edwards did not participate in a brief practice Wednesday. Vikings coach Brad Childress shortened the normal work week to give players extra time to rest after Monday night’s victory over Green Bay.
