As promised last week, the following is our latest attempt to interpret Friday's injury report in the NFC North:
CHICAGO BEARS
- Out: T Chris Williams (back)
- Doubtful: None
- Questionable: None
- Probable: LB Lance Briggs (ankle), DT Tommie Harris (ankle), WR Devin Hester (foot), T John Tait (groin), CB Nathan Vasher (shoulder/back), RB Matt Forte (ankle).
What it means: Nothing unusual this week. The Bears added Forte to the report Friday but coach Lovie Smith assured Chicago-area reporters that Forte would play Sunday at Carolina.
DETROIT LIONS
- Out: None
- Doubtful: None
- Questionable: DE Corey Smith (hamstring)
- Probable: LB Paris Lenon (knee), LB Ernie Sims (ankle), QB Drew Stanton (thumb).
What it means: Lenon and Sims are both expected to start Sunday against Green Bay. Lenon, however, is likely to rotate with rookie Jordon Dizon.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
- Out: G Josh Sitton (knee), C Scott Wells (back)
- Doubtful: None
- Questionable: RB Ryan Grant (hamstring), WR Ruvell Martin (finger), S Charlie Peprah (hamstring), S Aaron Rouse (ankle), CB Charles Woodson (toe)
- Probable: S Atari Bigby (bicep), LB Brandon Chillar (back), T Chad Clifton (knees), DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (knee), RB Brandon Jackson (concussion), WR James Jones (knee)
What it means: Grant participated in all of Friday's practice, an encouraging sign as he tries to work through a sore hamstring. He seems likely to play barring a setback. Woodson should also play despite sitting out practice all week. Martin will be available to play, but the Packers could give him a week off if they wanted -- considering Jones will return this week.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
- Out: S Madieu Williams (neck)
- Doubtful: None
- Questionable: OL Artis Hicks (elbow), RB Maurice Hicks (foot)
- Probable: QB Tarvaris Jackson (knee)
What it means: Artis Hicks was very limited in practice this week and the Vikings will push it until game time before deciding whether he can start at left tackle. If not, untested Marcus Johnson would start in his place. Johnson is a natural right-side player and would have a tough matchup against Indianapolis defensive end Dwight Freeney. Maurice Hicks looks like he could miss his second consecutive game.
