As you might have heard, Saturday is the 40th birthday of Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre. Rather than our usual sarcasm and scorn, we’ll turn this day over to several colleagues from ESPN Stats & Information.
Dennis Renno, Kevin Conlon and Allison Loucks came up with 40 memorable touchdown moments from Favre’s career. Those of you who have followed his career closely should get your memories jogged a few times by the list below:

2. November 6, 2000: In overtime on "Monday Night Football," Favre hits Antonio Freeman for a 43-yard touchdown. Freeman makes a miraculous juggling catch while falling down as the Packers defeat Minnesota in overtime.
3. September 27, 2009: In week 3 of this season, Favre turned back the clock again, throwing a game-winning touchdown to Greg Lewis with only two seconds remaining. The play covered 32 yards and Lewis just snuck his feet in bounds.
4. January 26, 1997: On the Packers’ second play from scrimmage in Super Bowl XXXI, Favre hits Andre Rison for a 54-yard touchdown. The play sets the tone for a Super Bowl victory and provides the iconic moment of Favre running down the field with helmet in hand.
5. January 26, 1997: Favre strikes again with Freeman for an 81-yard touchdown that, at the time, was the longest in Super Bowl history.
6. September 20, 1992: Favre comes off the bench for an injured Don Majkowski against the Bengals. He throws his first career touchdown pass, a 5-yard strike to Sterling Sharpe.
7. September 30, 2007: Favre becomes the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes as he throws No. 421 to break Dan Marino’s record. The touchdown was a 16-yarder to Greg Jennings.
8-11. December 22, 2003: In perhaps the greatest and most memorable performance of his career, Favre throws four touchdown passes on "Monday Night Football" against the Raiders. His dad passed away a day earlier and an emotional Favre played in honor of him.
12. January 8, 1994: Brett Favre made his postseason debut a memorable one as he threw a game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Sharpe. The play covered 40 yards to knock Detroit from the postseason.
13. September 20, 1992: In the same game as his first career touchdown pass, Favre completed a comeback off the bench by throwing a game-winning touchdown pass to Kitrick Taylor, covering 35 yards. It was the last game Favre came off the bench.
14. December 24, 1995: No touchdown pass symbolizes the toughness of Favre more than this one against the Steelers. After getting drilled by three Steelers, the Packers call timeout so Favre can collect himself. Favre then coughs up blood on the sideline but returns to throw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Mark Chmura on the next play.

16. October 29, 2007: Favre pulls another "Monday Night Football" miracle when he throws an 82-yard TD pass to Greg Jennings on the first play of overtime against the Broncos.
17. December 18, 1994: As the Packers were trying to close in on a playoff berth, they faced a must-win game against the Falcons. Favre ran for a 9-yard touchdown with 14 seconds remaining to clinch the win.
18-20. January 25, 1998: In his second Super Bowl appearance Favre played well. He threw three touchdowns in Super Bowl XXXII, but the Packers lost to the Broncos, 31-24.
21-23. September 12 -- October 10, 1999: Favre opens the 1999 season by throwing game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown passes in three of the first four games of the season. In Week 1, he hit Jeff Thomason for a 1-yarder to defeat the Raiders 28-24. In Week 3, he hit Corey Bradford with a 23-yard pass to beat the Vikings, 23-20. And after a Week 4 bye, Favre hit Freeman with a 21-yarder to beat the Buccaneers.
24. October 5, 2009: In one of the most anticipated games in "Monday Night Football" history, Favre faced his former team in the Metrodome while playing for the Vikings. After throwing 422 TD passes for the Packers, Favre throws one against his former team, a 1-yarder to Visanthe Shiancoe. The previous record for most TD passes for a team before throwing one against it was 244 by Joe Montana.
25. September 7, 2008: After 16 years in Green Bay, Favre threw his first TD with a different team, the New York Jets, a 56-yarder to Jerricho Cotchery.
26. January 6, 1996: After losing in the divisional playoff round in the previous season, Favre and the Packers upset the defending champion 49ers in large part to Favre's two first-half touchdowns to Keith Jackson and Chmura as the Pack jumped out to a 21-0 lead as Green Bay advanced to NFC Championship Game.
27. December 22, 1996: Favre threw 39 passing touchdowns that season, his career-high. His last was a 23-yarder to Keith Jackson. Favre won the second of three consecutive MVP awards that season.
28. November 8, 1993: Favre threw his first MNF touchdown to Jackie Harris at Kansas City, a 35-yarder. Favre has thrown 63 career touchdown passes on MNF, second to only Dan Marino.
29-34. September 28, 2008: It took 18 NFL seasons for Favre to throw for six touchdowns in a game, but he accomplished the feat in his fourth game with the Jets.
35. November 14, 1993: Of all of the 472 touchdown passes that Favre has thrown in the regular season, none was more frequent than the 1-yard scoring pass. He has done that 35 times, and the first such occurrence came on Nov. 14, 1993 to Jackie Harris at New Orleans. It was the 31st touchdown pass of Favre’s career.
36. December 16, 1995: Speaking of frequency, no one caught more touchdown passes from Favre than Freeman. Freeman caught 57 touchdowns from Favre. The first came on Dec. 16, 1995 at New Orleans.
37. December 3, 2001: Against Jacksonville, Favre throws for 362 yards and three touchdowns, but wins with this one with his feet. Favre's 6-yard touchdown run with 1:30 remaining, his first rushing touchdown in three years, gives the Packers a come-from-behind 28-21 victory.
38. September 13, 2009: Favre’s first touchdown pass in purple goes to rookie Percy Harvin, who was four years old when Favre threw the first touchdown pass of his career in 1992.
39. September 29, 1996: In his career, Favre became known as a master of improvisation, throwing many underhand passes. In 1996 against the Seahawks, he hit Freeman with an underhand four-yard flip after scrambling. It became a trademark play for Favre.
40. January 20, 2008: Favre has thrown 39 career postseason touchdowns, his last a 12-yarder to Donald Lee in the 2008 NFC Championship Game, when the favored Packers lost to the Giants.
