Let's take a closer look at the performances of three NFC North quarterbacks over the weekend. Remember, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't play until Monday night at the Seattle Seahawks. I'll account for his performance Tuesday in some form.
Passer rating: 157.9
Action plays: 14
Comment: Hill turned in a nearly-perfect relief performance, throwing for 172 yards despite playing only 19 snaps. He took responsibility for his role in the botched final play, but in general you can't ask for more from your backup quarterback. His QBR before that last play, by the way, was 98.8.
Passer rating: 94.7
Action plays: 41
Comment: Ponder agreed this was his best game as a professional, and his career-high QBR bolstered that thought. He was fortunate to have one interception dropped, but otherwise was efficient with the ball. He also converted a first down on one scramble and a touchdown on another.
Passer rating: 102.2
Action plays: 48
Comment: The final numbers looked good, but it's not clear why he and the Lions targeted receiver Calvin Johnson only twice in the first half. I understood seeking pass-run balance against the San Francisco 49ers' defense, but you don't want to move too far away from your core.
Passer rating: 58.9

Comment: The best thing you can say about Cutler's performance is the Bears won. His slow start (six completions in 12 first-quarter attempts, a sack and an interception) made this a tougher game than the Bears would have liked.
