MINNEAPOLIS -- Greetings from the Metrodome, where the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will match up in, oh, about 2 1/2 hours. While we wait, let's catch up on some practice news from around the NFC North:
Chicago Bears: The Bears are pretty healthy. Receiver Alshon Jeffery (hand) isn't close to returning. Quarterback Jay Cutler (ribs) participated in a limited portion of practice and should be ready for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Cornerback Sherrick McManis (hip) was a full participant in practice.
Detroit Lions: Amari Spievey (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The same could be true of cornerback Jacob Lacey (concussion), who didn't practice Thursday, either. Defensive end Cliff Avril (hip) and linebacker DeAndre Levy (knee) also sat out practice. Receiver Calvin Johnson (hip) returned. Cornerback Bill Bentley (shoulder) returned to practice on a limited basis.
Green Bay Packers: We've already noted that receiver Greg Jennings (groin) will undergo surgery next week. Nose tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) and receiver Donald Driver (neck) returned to practice. Receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring) did not practice but at this point there isn't any concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Linebacker Nick Perry (knee), cornerback Sam Shields (shin), fullback John Kuhn (hamstring) and running back James Starks (illness) also did not practice.
