I wrote pretty much all I have to, well, say about Christian Ponder's arm injury in Monday's Free Head Exam. From everything I understand, the bruise Ponder suffered in Week 17 would have made it impossible for him to throw effectively in the Minnesota Vikings' 24-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
But you know what they say: A picture is worth 1,000 words. And Shari Gross of the Star Tribune has a photo of the bruise in question. You can see it through this link.
As you can see, the bruise is extensive and deep. At the same time, I'm not sure whether it will help or hurt the Vikings' contention that Ponder couldn't throw Saturday. When I re-tweed Gross' photo, some of you were stunned by how significant it was while others wondered why it would impact his throwing motion.
Ponder is the only person who knows how it felt Saturday, of course. But I thought the photo added something to the narrative, so there you go.
