Let’s just say Chicago felt the wrath of ESPN.com’s Week 8 power rankings. The Bears’ 45-10 loss at Cincinnati sent them plummeting eight spots, the largest drop of any team this week.
Their fall also snapped the NFC North’s one-week reign as the best division in football. Our average ranking of 15.4 now ranks No. 4, behind the NFC East (13.8), AFC North (13.9) and AFC East (15.3).
Here’s where we stand as the midpoint of the season approaches:
4. Minnesota Vikings
Trending: Down one spot after a 27-17 loss at Pittsburgh.
13. Green Bay Packers
Trending: Up one spot after a 31-3 victory at Cleveland.
18. Chicago Bears
Trending: Down eight aforementioned spots from last week.
26. Detroit Lions
Trending: Unchanged following their bye.
