The defensive tackle, who is trying to return from a hyperextended right knee in time for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, was out of practice for the second time this week on Wednesday. Coach Leslie Frazier said the Vikings were going to try to get Williams some work today, but his continued absence would suggest the team will have a hard time getting him back for Sunday's game.
In other Vikings injury news:
Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, who missed the Vikings' final two preseason games after having a minor knee surgery, was a limited participant on Wednesday. The Vikings expect he will be able to play on Sunday.
Third-string quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson was also out of practice with an illness.
