No surprises among Lions inactives

September, 29, 2013
DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions had exactly who one would expect as inactives for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Wide receiver Nate Burleson, who is at Ford Field today, was inactive as was fellow receiver Patrick Edwards, who continues to battle a bum ankle. Offensive tackle Jason Fox, who practiced for the first time since injuring his groin in Week 1, was also inactive, but he's on his way back.

Safety Don Carey, who mostly plays special teams, is active for the first time since the opening week of the season. Running back Mikel Leshoure, who was up for the first time this season last week, is back to inactive status.

Also -- and this should not be a surprise -- Rashean Mathis is going to make his second straight start in front of rookie Darius Slay at cornerback.
