As I'm sure you noted, we had two rare ties in this week's ESPN.com Power Rankings -- and both of them involved NFC North teams. Here's how we settled the ties:
- Chicago was awarded No. 11 over Indianapolis because the Bears defeated the Colts, 29-13, in Week 1 of the season.
- Green Bay, meanwhile, lost out on No. 20 to Atlanta because of the Falcons' 27-24 victory last Sunday at Lambeau Field.
There, that wasn't so bad.
Overall, the North rankings generally fell within my expectations. I ranked the Packers one spot ahead of Minnesota because of their opening-weekend victory over the Vikings, but I'm a team player.
And after sitting through last week's debacle at Ford Field, I am convinced Detroit is the league's worst team. But I'm guessing few of my colleagues were willing to spend three hours watching that one, and I don't blame them.
