ATLANTA -- For the most part, the Chicago Bears have minimized a strong early push from the Atlanta Falcons.

As ESPN Research noted last week, the Falcons opened up their previous two home games on fire -- outscoring opponents, 56-0, in the first quarter and outgaining them, 385-35. Sunday, the Falcons outgained the Bears, 107-21, in the first quarter, but the Bears held them to a pair of Jason Elam field goals.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed his first eight passes, and his one incompletion was batted down at the line of scrimmage by defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek. Receiver Michael Jenkins had popped wide open on the play, but Dvoracek's play forced Elam's second field goal attempt.
