I'll have more on this news Monday afternoon, but for now I want to make sure you saw this report from ESPN's Adam Schefter: Green Bay has signed linebacker Brandon Chillar to a four-year contract extension worth $21 million, a big-time deal that includes $7 million in guarantees.

Chillar missed three games earlier this season with a hand injury and has made only four starts, but he has clearly made an impact in the Packers' 3-4 scheme. I wonder what this means for starter A.J. Hawk, the 2006 first-round draft choice who essentially has one year left on his contract. It's also possible Chillar could figure in the mix as a long-term replacement for outside linebacker Aaron Kampman. More to come later Monday.
