Updating Green Bay's RFA situation
By Kevin Seifert
Let's put a cap on the twisting story of the Green Bay Packers' trio of restricted free agents.
As we've noted before, the minimal change in safety Atari Bigby's salary rendered moot whether he would sign his tender.
Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Wednesday that defensive end Johnny Jolly signed his tender. But McCarthy has excused Jolly from next week's mandatory minicamp because of a looming felony drug possession test in Houston.
And finally: ESPNMilwaukee.com and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel are reporting that cornerback Tramon Williams "verbally" agreed to his tender before Monday night's deadline. In that case, Williams will not have his salary slashed and will remain scheduled to earn $3.168 million in 2010.
