INDIANAPOLIS -- On several occasions, most recently this week at the NFL scouting combine, Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy has expressed a need to settle the rotation on his offensive line.

 Clifton

One starting point, at least for 2009, appears to be left tackle Chad Clifton. Although Clifton's play slipped noticeably last season, the Packers are confident he will rebound and have locked him in as their starter for at least one more season. Clifton, who turns 33 in June, had arthroscopic surgery on both knees earlier this winter and is expected to participate in the team's offseason program.

McCarthy: "He's been very positive, both himself and [team Dr. Pat McKenzie] with his postseason surgeries. He's there every day. So see him almost on a daily basis. He feels it's definitely going to help him, based on the way he felt throughout the last season. I can't give you how many years [he'll play]. But he feels he will feel better this year than he did this past year."
