Bears could face Lions QB Drew Stanton

If you're a Detroit Lions fan, you're asking "What next?"

If you're a Chicago Bears fan, you're nodding your head confidently.

If you're a Green Bay Packers fan, you're echoing what @edahlb tweeted my way a few hours ago: "Looks like Bears will luck out again...."

That about sums up the news that Lions quarterback Shaun Hill didn't practice Tuesday. According to reporters who covered practice, Hill had tape on his right index finger and watched No. 3 quarterback Drew Stanton take the first-team repetitions. With starter Matthew Stafford still sidelined by a separated right shoulder, the only other healthy quarterback on the roster is rookie Zac Robinson -- who was claimed on waivers three weeks ago.

Hill finished the Lions' Thanksgiving Day game against the New England Patriots, and the team provided no information about the nature of his injury nor how it occurred. But the Lions are obviously concerned enough to have worked out two veteran quarterbacks, J.T. O'Sullivan and Josh McCown, according to Adam Caplan of FoxSports.com.

The Lions' first injury report of the week is not due until Wednesday, and coach Jim Schwartz told reporters: "With the Bears not practicing today it doesn't make any sense for us to talk about ourselves and who practiced."

Stay tuned. Hill knows the offense well enough to miss a few days of practice, but ultimately you would think he'll have to get on the field in some capacity before Sunday in order to start against the Bears.
