XLV: Packers could practice at historic HS
By Kevin Seifert
DALLAS -- I am not making this up. Sub-20 degree temperatures are in the forecast for this week in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. An ice storm could hit Tuesday, and according to the NFL, the Green Bay Packers are making plans to practice indoors this week.
The Packers were originally scheduled to practice at Southern Methodist University. If they move indoors, it will be at Highland Park high school. (Only in Texas would they have a high school with an indoor facility that could accommodate an NFL team.)
A couple of well-known NFC Central/North players hail from Highland Park. Both have played quarterback for the Detroit Lions: Bobby Layne and Matthew Stafford.
The Packers' first practice isn't until Wednesday. We'll keep you updated.
