Brandt: 'Increasing sense of hope' in talks
By Kevin Seifert
In the video below, ESPN business analyst Andrew Brandt reports there is an "increasing sense of hope" that the NFL owners and NFL Players Association could avoid a costly and prolonged work stoppage. The pressure Friday is squarely on the owners, according to Brandt, because they must decide whether to accept the players' offer for a second negotiating extension into next week. If the owners turn it down, allowing the collective bargaining agreement to expire Friday night, they will risk incurring the public's wrath.
Brandt was a longtime member of the Green Bay Packers' front office before co-founding the National Football Post. He recently joined ESPN as a television analyst.
