The Playoff Machine makes its return
By Kevin Seifert
As promised, ESPN.com has launched the Playoff Machine feature that provides an updated look at the postseason picture in both conferences. It's also adjustable based on future outcomes, so you can experiment on your own to see how the scenarios could change from week to week.
For what it's worth, if the season ended today after 10 games, the seedings would include three NFC North teams.
The Green Bay Packers would be the top seed. The Detroit Lions would be the No. 5 seed and play at the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. The Chicago Bears would be the sixth seed and open at the New Orleans Saints. Based on NFL tiebreakers, the Lions would get the higher seed because of a better division record at the moment.
We'll refer regularly to this really cool feature over the next six weeks. Feel free to bookmark it yourself.
