NFC North links: Motivation for Detroit

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune on Matt Forte's contract status: "As of early Monday morning, there was no indication of the Pro Bowl running back and the Bears agreeing to terms on a new contract. The two sides have until 3 p.m. [CT] Monday to reach a long-term deal. If the deadline passes, Forte would be forced to play under the franchise tag for the 2012 season -- a one-year franchise tender worth $7.74 million."
