MINNEAPOLIS -- As it turns out, one play did get Indianapolis back into its game here against Minnesota.
After getting outplayed for most of three quarters, especially by the Vikings' defense, the Colts used one 75-yard play to cut the deficit to 15-7. Anthony Gonzalez's heads-up flip to fellow receiver Reggie Wayne extended a 58-yard reception and ultimately put the Colts at the Vikings' 1-yard line.
Three plays later, Joseph Addai scored the touchdown on a 1-yard plunge. There will be plenty of groaning by Vikings fans about the call as nose tackle Pat Williams pushed Addai out of the end zone. But after watching a half-dozen replays of the call, I think it's pretty clear the ball broke the plane before Williams turned Addai around.
Now the Vikings will have to buckle down for a competitive fourth quarter in a game that should have long ago been put away.
