It's Senior Bowl week!
By Kevin Seifert
The annual Senior Bowl festivities have begun in Mobile, Ala. Weigh-ins and a light practice were on tap for Monday, and our friends at Scouts Inc. will have daily coverage over on the ESPN.com draft page.
As usual, many of the top draft prospects are skipping the Senior Bowl and will limit their on-field work to the scouting combine, pro days and private workouts. According to Scouts Inc., four prospects with first-round grades are working in Mobile. They are:
- North Carolina defensive tackle Sylvester Williams
- BYU defensive end Ezekiel Ansah
- Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher
- Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short
We briefly discussed Fisher last fall in this post about the Chicago Bears' deficiencies at tackle. It should be fair to assume the Bears will be seeking personnel upgrades at offensive line, via either the draft or free agency or both. Most of the Scouts Inc. reports this week will be available only to Insider subscribers, but I'll sneak you what I can.
