BBAO: OTAs in full swing

By Kevin Seifert

We're Black and Blue All Over:

Good morning. I hope everyone had an enjoyable and respectful Memorial Day weekend. This is a relatively quiet time of the NFL calendar, but it will mark the arrival of all four NFC North teams to organized team activities.

The Minnesota Vikings will open OTAs this week, a week (or more) later than the rest of the division because coach Leslie Frazier wants to get rookies as much productive work as possible. OTAs will continue through the middle of June, sandwiched around mandatory minicamp in the case of the Green Bay Packers, and the final event of the offseason will be the Vikings' minicamp from June 18-20.

(The Chicago Bears are taking a week off from OTAs during the shortened holiday week.)

After that, players and in most cases coaches, will have time off until the start of training camp in late July. It's amazing that we're even looking that far ahead on our short-range calendar. Tempus fugit and all that.

Let's take our morning tour around the division.
