Vikings: Kevin Williams looks good to go

By Ben Goessling

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Defensive tackle Kevin Williams was a limited participant for the second straight day in practice on Thursday, and coach Leslie Frazier said afterward that Williams will play on Sunday if everything goes fine in the Vikings' practice on Friday morning.

Williams missed the Vikings' first game with a hyperextended right knee and a bone bruise after a low block from San Francisco's Joe Looney in the Vikings' third preseason game on Aug. 25. He said last week he planned to return for the Chicago game, and it appears he will. The Vikings might have to limit his snaps somewhat, but they were planning to use him in a rotation this season with Sharrif Floyd anyway.

"One of the first things I asked him this morning was how did he feel, because you're concerned if he's going to have any swelling or soreness," Frazier said. "He said, 'I feel pretty good.' The only soreness was from inactivity, not being able to run and twist and turn. So he feels good."
