Packers report: Good sign for James Jones

By Rob Demovsky

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Coach Mike McCarthy wanted to see how Green Bay Packers receiver James Jones felt Saturday morning after going through his first full-pads practice on Friday in more than three weeks.

Apparently, Jones came through just fine.

He was practicing again Saturday, which is a good sign for his availability on Monday night against the Chicago Bears. Jones has not played since he sprained his left knee on Oct. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.

However, it wasn’t all good news for the Packers, who were without starting cornerback Sam Shields on Saturday. He was in attendance but was not practicing. He has not been on the injury report all week.

The full injury report, with status designations for Monday’s game, will be available after practice.

Others who did not practice were: linebacker Clay Matthews (thumb), linebacker Nick Perry (foot), tight end Ryan Taylor (knee) and tight end Jermichael Finley (neck). Matthews and Finley already have been ruled out.
