Wrap-up: Ravens 48, Lions 3
By Kevin Seifert
Ugh. Yuck. Bleah. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Pick whatever synonym for “repulsive” you choose. It would be a kind way to describe Detroit’s performance in a 48-3 loss on Sunday at Baltimore.
The Ravens romped for 548 offensive yards averaging a preposterous 8.7 yards per play. Adding injury to insult, the Lions appear to have lost tailback Kevin Smith for the season because of what coach Jim Schwartz called a “significant” knee injury.
This is as bad as it’s been all season for the Lions’ defense. Baltimore rolled to its impressive yardage total despite possessing the ball for LESS than half the game (29:45). Ravens tailback Ray Rice averaged a ridiculous 12.9 yards on his 17 touches, finishing with 219 all-purpose yards.
I could keep giving you numbers like that all night long. Let’s just all agree the Lions got rolled -- in a big way.
