I'm willing to bet on one bi-product of Detroit's 38-14 loss Sunday to Jacksonville: The Stantonites will be heard louder than ever.
Crusaders for backup quarterback Drew Stanton, devastated last week by the signing of veteran Daunte Culpepper, no doubt felt vindicated after Stanton completed six of eight passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in limited action during an otherwise numbing Lions defeat.
But Stanton has given some fans their only cause for hope, and his appearance Sunday should fuel calls for regular playing time. In truth, Stanton was part of a defined set of packages which could be the perfect way to ease him into the lineup during a lost season.
The televised image of Culpepper reading through the plays on his armband -- one on his right arm, the other on his left -- is a perfect snapshot of the Lions' ever-devolving situation.
