Each week, I'll write about the sport I love: college basketball.
Kansas and Kentucky will meet again next season. That is the marquee matchup in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. There are a number of interesting showdowns, including Oklahoma vs. Florida featuring Lon Kruger against a former employer. Texas A&M and West Virginia also stands out.
The ACC/Big Ten Challenge features several outstanding matchups as well. Indiana-North Carolina, Michigan State-Duke and Wisconsin-Syracuse are among the highlights.
Roy Williams received some good news when Justin Jackson opted to return to the Tar Heels, pulling out of the NBA draft. Previously, North Carolina got word that forward Kennedy Meeks was coming back to Chapel Hill after withdrawing from the draft.
Wisconsin will have forward Nigel Hayes back after he pulled out of the NBA draft. Coach Greg Gard had to be happy with that decision. He should be a major factor in the Big Ten next season. Oregpn's Dillon Brooks and Villanova's Josh Hart also opted to return to college.
Syracuse was not as fortunate as Malachi Richardson decided to sign with an agent and stay in the draft.
Kansas added a future big man as Evan Maxwell transferred from Liberty. He averaged double-figure scoring last season and will have to sit out the 2016-17 campaign.
