ATLANTA -- Just arrived here in the (mildly) Deep South and have a couple roster moves to catch up on:
Green Bay placed rookie running back Kregg Lumpkin on injured reserve and signed tailback DeShawn Wynn off their practice squad. Lumpkin has missed the past two games because of a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Seattle. It's not clear if his injury has worsened, but there's no doubt the Packers didn't want to go another game with only two healthy tailbacks (Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson).
Chicago terminated the contracts of two practice squad players: Punter Zac Atterberry and receiver Mike Hass. It's relatively unusual to release a player from a practice squad on a Saturday. He's already been paid for the week, if nothing else. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times suggests the moves are indications that the health of punter Brad Maynard and receiver Brandon Lloyd is improving.
