LAKE BUENA VISTA -- Before we get to the really good -- and telling -- stuff from Jon Gruden on Brett Favre, here's a little bit more of the coach dancing.
"There's speculation every day in this league. There's speculation on every team all the time. I try to deal in reality and facts. And right now, I don't have all the facts. I don't have half of the reports or information that have been available. People are trying their best to get the story. If I have information, I will be forthcoming and let you know, but all I can say right now is that I said what I said and I meant what I said."
Gruden was asked if he had talked to Favre.
"There's no discussing this anymore. I'm not discussing it. I'm done discussing it. I don't have any reports about Brett Favre at this point in time, I'm sorry."
Gruden then kept discussing Favre.
"I don't want to be evasive. I really don't feel it's my point or my purpose to address a lot of issues that I don't know a lot about. Do I know Brett Favre? Yes, I know Brett Favre. Do I respect him? Yes, I do, but I also have a football team here that I am accountable to and I don't want to answer any other questions at this point in time until I get a chance to take a shower and hear from the people inside our building and sit in our staff meetings that can inform me as to what is going on.
"Don't shoot the messenger here, guys. I'm just a football coach. I just went through 196 plays. I've got a lot on my mind. I liked the way we played on both sides of the ball. We were turnover-free -- and that's a key winning edge for us -- other than Aqib Talib, who made a spectacular play in the end zone. We put them in some different situations in the red zone -- in the tight red zone areas. We got off the field and we moved the ball. I thought our guys did a pretty good job in terms of their assignments."
We'll have more of Gruden up in a few minutes.
