Not sure that this will suddenly clear up the safety situation in Tampa Bay, but the Bucs just added a player to their defensive backfield.

The Bucs announced Monday morning they have claimed safety Matt O'Hanlon off waivers from the Carolina Panthers. An undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, O’Hanlon signed with Carolina on April 30.

The Bucs have Tanard Jackson as one starting safety and Sabby Piscitelli and Sean Jones are competing for the other spot. O’Hanlon might have a chance to make the roster as a backup safety and special teams player.
