Here's a quick update on one of the two linebackers released by the Buccaneers in their February purge of veterans. Cato June is visiting with the Houston Texans, even though he doesn't fit the profile of the large-size linebacker they're looking for.
Still no word on whether Derrick Brooks, the other linebacker released by the Bucs, will continue his career or retire. The common assumption is that Brooks will wait until after the draft to make up his mind.
Brooks probably will get some offers after the draft because some teams may realize they still have holes at linebacker. But Brooks may have to accept a role as a situational player if he wants to stay in the league.
