Tampa Bay linebacker Antoine Cash is taken off the field on a stretcher after a hit during the fourth quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday in Tampa, Fla.

TAMPA, Fla. -- The early word on Tampa Bay linebacker Antoine Cash, who was carted off the field with a neck injury, is encouraging.

Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden said Cash has movement in his extremities.

"We don't know the exact severity, but he's moving around and the signs are good,'' Gruden said.

Cash was taken off on a stabilizing board after his head appeared to collide with the hip of teammate Marcus Hamilton while the two were attempting to make a tackle in the fourth quarter. Both players went down and Hamilton eventually limped off the field.

Cash wasn't moving at first and players from both teams gathered around and prayed as medical personnel worked on him. But Gruden said he was updated by team doctors immediately after the game and early indications were positive.
