I just got the complete breakdown of the one-year contract defensive tackle Shaun Rogers signed with New Orleans Saints on Tuesday night.

It previously has been reported in various outlets as being worth $4 million. That’s accurate. But let’s take a look at the entire structure.

Rogers received a $500,000 signing bonus. His base salary will be $2.5 million, with $1 million of that guaranteed. There also is a $370,000 bonus in the deal that comes due if Rogers is on the opening-day roster. The deal also includes $630,000 in incentives that fall into the “likely-to-be-earned’’ category.

Assuming there’s a new labor deal and a salary cap, Rogers’ salary-cap figure will be an even $4 million.
